Get to Know Forman Scholar Myles Rodgers!

Basketball has been a lifelong passion for Myles Rodgers, and he plans to stay close to the sport he loves by studying physical therapy at Fairleigh Dickinson University Florham in Madison, New Jersey. Learn more about Myles and the plans he has for his college career.

What made you want to study at Fairleigh Dickinson?

I was recruited to play basketball, and Fairleigh Dickinson also has an excellent physical therapy program. Overall, the school presented me with the best overall package in terms of the opportunities I would be offered as a student.

Why study physical therapy?

I’ve played basketball my entire life, and I knew I wanted to pursue a degree program that would allow me to remain somewhat close to the sport. And a career in physical therapy will allow me to do just that. Plus, it’ll be nice to help athletes who have been injured and get them back into play.

How did you get involved during high school?

At Salem, I played on the basketball team, of course. I also was involved in the Academic League, the Future Business Leaders of America, Student Council, the Athletic Training Club and the Ambassador Program.

How do you plan to make the most of your experience at Fairleigh Dickinson?

For the first couple of months, I want to focus primarily on my classes and my performance on the court. Once I get a handle on things, I’ll probably look to join a few other clubs as my schedule allows.

How has the Forman Acton Foundation contributed to your growth as a person and a student?

The Foundation continues to be a valuable motivator for me, pushing me to do my best in school and life. Yes, they’ve helped me financially, but they also have my back no matter what happens over the next few years.
