Why are you so passionate about education?

Throughout my life, I’ve crossed paths with countless educators who have made such a positive impact on my learning – including my mom, who is a middle school math and special ed teacher. My goal is to similarly transform the lives of students, and I look forward to doing just that in a high school biology classroom right here in South Jersey.

What types of activities were you involved in as a Salem student?

In high school, I served as Student Council President, President of the Class of 2023 and Student Representative on the Salem Board of Education. I played varsity soccer, as well as participated in Ram Theatre, Ram Singers and Concert Band. In addition, I was involved in many service organizations like Lighthouse Tutoring and Project Restore.

What will you miss most about Salem High?

As part of the International Baccalaureate program, my classmates and I traveled to Lisbon, Portugal, the summer before our senior year. That was certainly an experience I’ll never forget.

What excites you most about the college experience?

I’m most excited about meeting new people, making the most of my time and getting involved on campus. I’m already a part of both the Honors Program and a community service organization called the Bonner Leadership Program. Through these activities, I hope to make new connections and new memories over the next few years.

How has the Forman Acton Foundation contributed to your growth as a person and a student?

In addition to financial support, the Foundation has provided me with many resources to make me feel prepared for college. College can be a daunting experience, but through the counseling and guidance of the Foundation’s staff, I do not doubt that I’m set up for success.
